1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions form a binding agreement between you and TheAype regarding your use of this website and the utilities it provides. By accessing or using the site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the site.
2. About the Service
TheAype provides browser-based utilities for handling documents, generating invoices, estimating AI token costs, calculating Ethiopian salary and tax figures, and preparing images for Telegram channels. The service is offered without registration.
Most tools execute entirely on your own device. Your browser performs the work, and the results you see are produced locally. We do not receive your files, your invoice contents, or the figures you enter into the calculators.
The service may be changed, extended, or discontinued. Specific tools may be added, altered, or withdrawn at any time, and we may stop offering a tool without prior notice.
3. Acceptable Use
When you use TheAype, you agree to the following. You must not:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to facilitate any violation of Ethiopian or international law.
- Process documents, images, or data that you do not own or lack the lawful right to use, modify, or distribute.
- Create invoices, receipts, or tax calculations that are false, misleading, altered, or intended to deceive a customer, an authority, or a payment provider.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or the accounts of other users.
- Introduce malicious code, or interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the operation of the site.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract content from the site, or automate access in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Republish, resell, or redistribute the site or its tools as your own product, or remove attribution from the TheAype name and marks.
- Misrepresent the output of a tool, including presenting estimates from the calculators as official or certified figures.
We may restrict or block access, and may remove content, where we have reasonable grounds to believe these terms have been breached or that the law requires it.
4. Intellectual Property
The TheAype name, logo, iconography, written content, tool interfaces, visual design, and underlying source code are owned by or licensed to TheAype and are protected by intellectual property law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
You may:
- Use the tools for personal and commercial work.
- Link to the site from your own pages, provided the link is not framed or presented in a way that implies endorsement.
- Quote brief factual descriptions of a tool, with a link back to theaype.pro.et, for commentary, documentation, or education.
You may not:
- Copy the site design or reimplement the tools to publish your own.
- Use the TheAype name or marks in your own product, domain name, or company name in a way that suggests a connection.
- Remove or obscure copyright notices, disclaimers, or attribution from the site.
Files and content that you bring to the tools, and outputs you generate, remain yours. Generating an output does not transfer any ownership of our tools or software to you.
5. No Warranty
The site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.
The calculators and estimators produce informational results derived from the inputs and reference data available at the time you use them. They are not professional accounting, tax, payroll, or engineering advice, and they are not an official government or financial institution calculation. Rates, brackets, pension rules, and model pricing change.
Verify every figure independently before relying on it. You are responsible for checking results against the relevant official formulas and for any financial, legal, or business decision you make based on them.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TheAype will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the site or your inability to use the site.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to the site is limited to 100 United States Dollars or the equivalent amount in Ethiopian Birr, or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TheAype from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the site, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, including content you process or distribute using the tools.
8. Service Availability
We aim to keep the site available and to fix defects promptly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or continued availability of any specific tool. The service is provided without any service level commitment.
We may perform maintenance, update dependencies, or change features at any time. Features may be deprecated or removed, and behaviour that depends on browser capabilities may change with browser updates.
Because processing happens on your device, your results also depend on your browser, its memory limits, and the integrity of the files you select. Large documents may fail or run slowly on low-memory devices.
9. External Links and Advertising
The site may contain links to third-party websites, including payment providers referenced in the invoicing tools. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.
Advertising on this site is served by third parties such as Google AdSense. We do not endorse advertised products or services and are not responsible for advertiser claims. How advertising data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Data and Security
While we design the tools to process data locally, no method of transmission or local processing is completely secure. You are responsible for the security of your device, your browser, and any files you save or share. Our data handling practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the service or the law. Revisions take effect when published on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Your continued use of the site after a revision means you accept the updated terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, or where required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, survive.
13. Severability and Waiver
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts of Addis Ababa have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the site, except where applicable law grants you the protection of mandatory consumer provisions in your country of residence.
