Ethio Mobile Money & Transfer Fee Calculator

Enter the amount you want to move and see what the published tariff actually charges. Telebirr wallet transfers, telebirr to bank, agent cash-outs, CBE Birr, M-PESA and EthSwitch interbank transfers are all priced side by side, and the cheapest route for your amount is marked. Figures run entirely in this tab.

The transfer

All amounts are Ethiopian Birr (ETB). The result updates as you type.

The amount the recipient receives. The provider fee is charged on top, so the total leaving your wallet or account is higher.

Each option is a separate published tariff. Picking a different provider only changes which schedule is applied.

The amount and provider you last used are kept in this browser and offered again next time. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the button above removes them.

Every provider, same amount

The same amount run through every published schedule. The cheapest priced route is marked with a solid edge. A route with no published text is listed as withheld and left out of the cheapest result rather than estimated.

Where these numbers come from

Each schedule was transcribed by hand from the operator or bank tariff page below and checked on 13 October 2026. Nothing on this page is modelled, averaged, or filled in from another provider. When a tariff changes, this page does not know until someone re-checks it, so confirm the charge on your own confirmation screen before you send.

  • Telebirr bands are the published telebirr to telebirr, telebirr to bank, and agent cash-out tariffs from Ethio Telecom. Cash-in at an agent is free, so it does not appear here.
  • CBE Birr cash-out is the published registered-customer tariff including VAT. The 101 to 3,000 band is 1% of the amount, and above 3,000 CBE charges a flat amount.
  • EthSwitch Interbank is the interbank charge CBE publishes for the EthSwitch route. CBE states this is on top of a separate EthSwitch S.C. charge, which is not part of the figure shown.
  • Safaricom M-PESA Ethiopia publishes its charges as a pricing chart in the app and on *733#, not as a public tariff table, so no number is shown for it. The page names the route and tells you where to read the real charge.
  • CBE Birr wallet transfers between CBE Birr wallets over CBE mobile banking are published as free. That route is deliberately left out of the table because it only applies between two CBE wallets, not to the general send.

This is an estimate for planning, not a payment instruction. Providers change tariffs, agents set their own commission on top, and account limits apply per transaction and per day. If a number here decides where you send your money, check the operator first.
